This is a collection of short stories inspired by the most acclaimed paintings of Edward Hopper. As a bonus, each story is captioned with a description of the painting which inspired it. Most of Hopper's masterworks are still under copyright at the time of this

--New York Movie tells of the aspirations of a young woman whose days are spent as an usher at a movie palace just before her relationship with a very mysterious platonic lover reaches a turning point.
-The Office at Night is a sordid tale where a mobster attempts to blackmail a talent agent whose assistant is about to become a widow.
-Nighthawks tells how the soda jerk at an all night coffee shop met Hopper by posing for him, along with his encounters among other celebrities both before and after his death.
