The Hope of Seeing You Again

Inaya Mandera, despite a lonely childhood marked by violence and pessimism, always tried to remain anchored in reality, facing the trials of life. However, when you think you have reached rock bottom, the worst often comes unexpectedly.

At twenty-one, forced by the need to protect her baby, she commits the unthinkable by coldly murdering her first love. This act condemned her to twenty years of imprisonment, a sentence with serious consequences.

Released twenty years later, Inaya finds herself confronted with a society that is unwelcoming towards former prisoners. In the small town of Entebbe, she must face the accusatory looks of the inhabitants, confront the demons of her past which haunt her present, reconnect with her alcoholic father and wounded by life, and come to terms with the painful separation from her adopted son.

Her journey of reconstruction and quest for peace leads her on the path of benevolent as well as cruel encounters, painful family secrets, poignant stories, and above all, towards the enigmatic and seductive Florian Akello.
