A Globetrotter Down Under
Arriving Down Under from the Pacific, you first land in Auckland, New Zealand's largest city on the North Island. In the rain, which is why everything is so green here, on to Rotorua, city of the Maori indigenous people and the many geysers. From here to Mount Cook Airport on the South Island. Mount Cook is the highest mountain in New Zealand, 3,724 metres, with snow and glaciers. On to Queenstown, where you can enjoy the Million Dollar View of a marvellous fjord landscape. On to Te Anau, where you can admire Milford Sound if there is no snow preventing access. Back to Christchurch, a typical "English town" for the flight to Sydney, Australia.
In Sydney, the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge, which is said to be the longest suspension bridge in the world, are of course the most interesting sights. Then by sleeper train north to Brisbane, with its Koala Sanctuary, and the next day onwards by sleeper train to Gladstone, to the Great Barrier Reef.
Return in the same way to Sydney for the onward flight to the island of Bali, Indonesia.
Around 180 photos let you experience the journey up close.
