From sensuous Eastern princesses to a sulky Greek king, from warring giants to cartel fairies, from spurned lovers to vengeful witches; from a corpse that comes alive to a woman who rescues the damned from hell. Look no further than the ancient Kingdoms of Ulster and the popular folk tales and legends that, over centuries, have grown and bloomed in the fertile imaginations of its peoples.
The stories in this collection are oral narratives, passed from generation to generation, and written down as they were told by ordinary folk more than a hundred years ago. Although these may be stories of a different time, they capture poignantly life's infinite challenges and the essential decencies that define the worth of the human condition.
