I was born in a very bad section of New York City. It was called "Alphabet City" because the avenues were named
Ave A, Ave B, Ave C etc. till it reached the end of the neighborhood. The cross streets were numbered starting with 1 and
then 2, etc. My family lived on Ave A and Second St. I was born on in the Spring of 1951, in a broken-down tenement building.
My life is a story of survival, determination, street smarts and sheer luck. My journey has brought me face to face with
gangs, drugs, guns, gangsters, prostitutes, kidnappers and the lowest individuals you would meet but it has also brought
me love, compassion, beauty and a wonderful spirit connection to this beautiful planet that we call Earth.
