Born in a small Kansas town, Moved to Ohio for my grade school years, and then back to Kansas for high school years. Once I gradulated from high school I joined the Marines Reserves. Two years later I was attending college on the GI bill. While in college I took a liking to the ROTC program, and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant. I was stationed in Berlin prior to the wall being build, Transferred back to Ft. Lewis Washington, and then to Viet Nam.as one of the first advisors. Then back to the states for Ranger, and Pathfinder courses. (Airborne School was in there somewhere).
.I ultimately spent four years in the Marine Reserves, and thirty on active duty in the U.S. Army. I retired as a Lt. Colonel. Fifthteen of my thirty years were spent overseas. This book covers my experiences during the early years. From birth in Kansas to leaving on my first tour to Viet Nam. Future editions are planned to cover the years following.
