Fast Food
Fast Food
Since the age of nine, Steve Bacon has been a slave to his inner voice - a coping mechanism, borne from trauma, to keep love and vulnerability at a distance. A lifetime of disruptive ruminations has led Steve's therapist to suggest two possible remedies - the psychotropic drug Haldol, and the Flor de Verdad, a sacred plant medicine found in the Sonora Desert.
Desperate to silence his Monkey Mind once and for all, Steve ingests the mystical flower. A portal opens filled with a buffet of hallucinogenic insights and one ancient demon, obsessed with the mellow sounds of the 70's, who suggests a tastier solution to all of life's nagging problems.
At the intersection of three life-changing events, Steve must reconcile how far he is willing to go for happiness and success.
Ultimately, Fast Food explores the nature of two horrors: the evil humans inflict upon one another for personal gain, and the vengeance they employ to even the score.
