Six million years ago, should the apes and chimpanzees have had any wonderment in looking up at the stars, some might have seen three closely positioned falling stars racing towards Earth. The loud sonic boom caused by the bright fiery entry into the atmosphere caused animals in three distinct areas on the planet to scamper in fear.

An oil company drilling a new well in rural Oklahoma is far from its target depth when the steel-and-tungsten-carbide bit strikes something hard enough to mangle it. When the crew pulls the twisted bit to the surface, they find a small piece of shiny debris lodged between two teeth of the cutting head.

Did the the oil company's geologist miss something in his analysis? Under duress, he calls upon Doctor Aiden Lewis, head of NASA's Solar System Geology Department, to identify the foreign substance. After holding the mysterious piece of debris, he senses that he is on the cusp of discovering his lifelong dream.

Fascinated and puzzled, Aiden travels to the site and lowers a high-def. camera into the drill tube to investigate. As the cam focuses, six hundred-eighty-seven feet below the Oklahoma red-dirt surface, Aiden confirms, he's not looking at a deeply buried meteor. He must cancel his promise of retirement to his wife and teenage daughter, who's now needing his time now more than ever.

The race is on to unearth and explore the vessel, in that, discovering a paradigm shift of human kind while keeping its secret from the world. Aiden and a team of scientists and soldiers turn to an Air Force general's help and ultimately to the POTUS to develop a fool-proof plan to squash the rapidly spreading rumors and deflect a dogged and determined Oklahoma City TV reporter.
