The Sorcerer's Dream

On a whim, Rachel Torrance, a young writer and professor at Princeton University, embarks on an expedition to Madre de Dios in the Amazon region of Peru in search of inspiration for her next book. Along with her guide, a Spanish-speaking colleague from the University, she encounters a strange collection of characters, shamans and self-proclaimed sorcerers, who teach her the ancient rituals of their people and change her sense of herself and everyday reality in profound ways.

Paul Koppisch is the author of sixteen novels including Avon by the Sea, The Yellow King, An Atlas of Hearts, and Who Knows Where the White Crane Flies? His books have sold in over fifteen countries. A screenplay based on his first novel, The Shaman's Daughter, has been optioned for production as a television series. He currently lives in Virginia with his wife Kyong.
