In the afterlife, not even the gods are safe.

It's time for the final battle, this time against Apep, a god who rivals Ra in strength. The easy part will be finding him: the snake god never leaves the afterlife so that he can attack Ra there every night. The hard part? There's a reason Apep attacks in the afterlife. A soul lost there is gone forever.

It will take all of their forces-Isis, Horus, Ra, Sekhmet, and Ma'at included-to take down this final god, and Isis can see no future in which she is directly involved. With success hardly guaranteed, it's their last chance to stop chaos before it grows too strong, but in the land of the dead, all of them, even the gods themselves, might not last until sunrise.
