Haikus of Four Seasons IV: 2023-2024

This is the fourth bilingual haiku anthology written by local poets residing in the Greater Princeton Area and elsewhere. This collection specifically presents 92 original haikus written by the members of the Princeton Adult Haiku Society (PAHS) that was founded in 2021, in both English and Japanese, so that readers can appreciate them in two languages. Each haiku has an appropriate season word per the Japanese calendar, as well as an annotation where applicable.

The essence of haiku is to elevate one's feelings to a more objective and larger perspective. This mental engagement can facilitate embracing empathy for others who are grieving for the loss of their families and friends, and who are suffering from various forms of hardships, and also can serve as a healing process for the grief and suffering of one's self. With this in mind, this haiku collection is dedicated to Kate Serge, a dear friend of one of the founding members of the PAHS, Dana Defonte.
