Bookshop: (A Lunar Story)

Since time travel and longlived Artifical Robots are commonplace, this story, like most LUNAR STORIES, can take place anywhere and at any time in the LUNAR universe. There are anchors that refer back to previous stories and link to form the universe, but the LUNAR STORIES are designed to stand alone, and each story brings into focus the details that make up this universe.

PROLOGUE:

Down an obscure alley that held many curiosity stores was an ancient bookshop. And Geoff was looking for a book that was one of those rare jewels society had forgotten-one that, when you read it, pulled you in and made you feel like you could almost see and feel what others did. He wanted a good read that flowed, allowing him to escape into it. And Geoff wasn't fond of those flowery books with fanciful words that danced across the pages because they always seemed more painfully artsy than good and usually lacked comfortable readability. But that wasn't what Geoff was about to find because he would soon locate something he had never expected in a bookshop known as Zankoff's.
