God gave me the vision of looking out from the podium at a church and not seeing people but instead Christmas gifts of all sorts with shiny bows, beautiful ribbons, and wonderfully wrapped paper. God gives dozens, hundreds, thousands of beautiful gifts to churches, and nearly every one of the gifts is unopened.
Have you ever given a gift to someone who refused to open it? Probably not. If it happened, you would know the disappointing, heartbreaking incident.
Is that what we are doing with the gifts given to our churches? Do we grieve the Holy Spirit who allots to each one just as He determines, and we ignore it? Why do we do this?
God communicated to me in the vision that became a photograph. Churches lack being a spiritually energized, community-changing entity because they have no clue what the tools (gifts) God has given them to accomplish this community-influencing objective.
Are those people filling our seats and pews living fruitful and fulfilled lives? Probably not.
Picture everyone in your church knowing their ministry, recognizing others' uniquely placed abilities, and working within their gift - backed by the power of the Holy Spirit. This church helps people find their God-given place of service and their God-given Spiritual Gifts. That is what we should all aspire to make real in our church.
Imagine a church spreading its ministries thru the community, meeting the needs of people. People in the community benefit from the activity. They are motivated to see what is going on in this spiritually alive place where everyone knows their God-given Passion, God-given Spiritual Gifts, and God-given Behavioral Style. Positive attention (glory) goes to Jesus and what He did for us when he took all the world's sin and captured it on the cross to save us.
Show people how to discover their Spiritual Gifts, and they will be the hands and feet of Jesus.
Let us unwrap the beautiful gifts and let the Holy Spirit change the nation and world!
I hope it is not too late. May this book ignite a fire in people and churches to change the arc our churches and nation are traveling.
