Shirley Blake works at a seamstress shop in the middle of Everton - a lively city in the heart of Missouri. Watching the world going on around her, she feels stuck in motion. In between the heaps of fabric and miles of thread, she finds herself wanting so much more.

Wilbur Davis carries the guilt of something from his past everyday. Leaving home when he was only seventeen, he's spent the last eight years living on a ranch in Nevada. When tragedy strikes, he's forced to return to the farm he grew up on and face the pain he'd so desperately tried to leave behind.
