From Orphans to Kings: Forsaken

Cartwall, the city of kings. The capital of the Akion Empire.

It's no place for an orphan to find their way, but that's how it goes in Cartwall. Most are churned out of orphanages and sent into the factories where they'll die, withered and old at their young age. Some are sent to the guard, destined to sacrifice their lives for the empire. Some find luck and are adopted into loving homes, provided mothers are caring and fathers aren't fiends.

The destiny of an orphan is a far cry from anything Aiden wants. Dreams of adventure and life outside the city walls are the foremost of his desires. He wants to go where he will, when he wants, without repercussion. He's stolen, lied, and cheated. However, it's high time he finds a way out of it for good. He yearns for freedom. Needs it.

So when Aiden decides enough is enough, how does he find worth in the world? Definitely not in factories, the guard, or with an adopted family. He'll do it on his own. He'll make his own path.

Yet, that path will hold the darkest corners and bitter stretches he'll ever face. He will learn of the hidden structures holding the empire together. The cloak and dagger nation. A machine fueled by blood. He will have to become both killer and spy to survive.
