Trouble on the Horizon: A sequel to The Dusty Attic Where The Future Meets The Past

It was a bitterly cold winter and Sara was still adjusting to motherhood and life in 1788. She no longer had the option to return to 2022 since their home in the future burnt down in a forest fire that nearly took Sara's life.

Sara still struggled with memories from her past and the loss of all the luxuries and conveniences she once enjoyed in the 21st Century. Life on the frontier of Tennessee was hard; if it wasn't for the love she had for Nathan Chambers, she would never have been able to endure it.

When spring finally arrives, Sara, Nathan, and Gabriel, their four-month-old son, travel to Knoxville for supplies. John Ainsworth is there to offer Nathan a job to lead a wagon train out of Pennsylvania to Tennessee to start a settlement just hours away from where the Chambers live.

They all enjoy a time of peace until Eli Crago moves to the town six years later. He was a captain during the war for independence and was known for his brutality and hatred of all Indians.

Eli tries to form a militia in the small town with the help of some unscrupulous men from his past to wipe out all the Indians in the region. The people in town are afraid of him and go to Nathan who is friends with the Cherokee living to the northwest of his property. They ask for help stopping Eli before he destroys the whole town with his hatred.

During this time Sara's parents have rebuilt Nathan's house in the future with the hope of reopening the time portal so they can see their daughter again. They never figured their young grandson, Gabriel, would be the first to discover it. However, it couldn't have happened at a better time, for Sara and Nathan would need their help while they battle for their lives as Eli Crago tries again and again to eliminate the two of them for interfering with his plans to wipe out the Indians.
