Because I Love: A Collection of Poems, Short Stories, and Litanies

This collection of poems, short stories, and litanies reflect my journey to understand love and the role it plays in our personal lives and in our communities. As I have traveled on a journey of healing, I have learned to seek paths that lead to compassion and love. This has led me to join with others along a similar journey. I have journeyed as a mother seeking to bring love and equality to the LGBTQ+ community and have lobbied for autism inclusion. I have journeyed as a person of faith and joined with global community leaders starting conversations on compassion that will lead us all to healing and peace. I have journeyed as a survivor of domestic abuse, searching for healing and answers along my way. I journey as a listener waiting to hear your story.

This is a time for change in the nation I call home. This is a time for us all to embody love and compassion as we seek answers that will help us rebuild to be a nation known for equality and justice for all. This is a time for us to reach out to build a stronger global community so we can bring peace to our hurting world.

We can be known by our love. We can be bearers of peace. We can embody compassion.
