Riley held the elevator door open for her boss, Jeff Anthony she didn't like him at all. He was the reason she was working past her bedtime when she ought to have been out celebrating Violet's birthday. She had never worked for a boss as conceited and narcissistic as Mr. Anthony. Sofia's cell phone flew out of her fingers and clattered on the elevator wall, giving her the creeps. The elevator made another groaning lurch and dropped a few more feet.

Emergency lights came on and bathed the elevator in dim red light. Sofia fanned herself with her blouse as the elevator's power failed. Already her chest was tightening and the air in the elevator seemed too warm. Sweat was starting to trickle between her breasts and she unbuttoned the top two buttons of her shirt.
