Seasons Of Blame: Confessions of A Single Mother

Take a journey with me....one you can relate to. A story you've seen or heard....coming from a face you might have never expected. My journey is dealing with manipulative, emotionally unbalanced, emotionally dramatic, mentally draining, mentally unhealthy, and unstable behaviors. My journey is emotional abuse. It's real and a not talked about subject that needs to be discussed. Yes it may be hard to recognize at first, because these discussions are not happening. If a feelings conversation is happening 9/10 we are not getting to the root of the problem. Emotional abuse is a slow, silent killer. The abuser is being humiliating, derogatory, name-calling, assassinating your character, patronizing, yelling, dismissive, belittles you, berates you, threatens you, digitally spies on you, financially controlling, random outbursts, unpredictability, uses people, turns the tables, constantly in denial of the truth, uses guilt, trivializing, blaming others for their problems, always demanding respect, dehumanizing you, shutting you down, trying to come between you and your family, actively working to turn people against you, saying your needy, interrupting, not accepting to your feelings, just to name a few. Over time that can weigh heavy on a person's and shatter a person's psychological state of mind. It can make you think things, do things, act a certain way, become a certain way, because this person has created this dark, illuminating, crazy, havoc filled playground, where you're the action figure (s) and he (the kid) doesn't want to share his toy (s).Emotional /mental abuse is abuse, and it's just as serious as physical abuse. Any type of abuse is unacceptable. My journey is one of love, tried patience, realization, looking past flaws, trying to move on, heal, & forgive. But, still continuously getting hurt, used, and abused. A journey of putting my children first before me. Teaching them how to continually be kind and respectful to their father who was in and out of their life and at times being dismissive and emotionally hurtful to them. My journey is finding me through my faith, standing tall at all times, and not letting go of my strength, even when I wanted to. My journey is similar to your journey....you ready?!? Let's go!
