Born and raised in the Marcy Project Housing Complex located in Bedford-Stuyvesant Brooklyn, New York City, the story brings you through an amazing journey from the African Motherland into the gritty hallways of Marcy Projects.

Each book within the series breaks down a timeline of chronological events that began before the transatlantic slave trade and matriculated to the middle of hip hop culture. The author discusses how his parents played an integral part in the civil rights movement, were both members of the black panther party, and his father Ali Lamont, was one of Malcolm X's former bodyguards.
