Inside Robotics: Robots and Humanoids, Now and in the Future

Researchers all over the world are racing to develop technologies using robotics. Some in the scientific community are engaged in the study and development of humanoids. If they are successful in that endeavor and there are not bans-serious ones-the outcome could be that these creatures become smarter than their creators. We have all seen sci-fi movies that imagine a hellish, apocalyptic future in which robots destroy the world. What if that future develops gradually-a drumbeat growing louder every day, until one day the defining roar overtakes everything? What if that day is not very far away?
