Jeremy Renner: In a Critical Condition From snow-plowing Accident

After sustaining critical injuries in a snowplow accident, actor Jeremy Renner had two operations at a hospital in Nevada.

According to Extra, the Hurt Locker actor endured the operations as part of his "long road to recovery" and is now "awake, stable, and conversing."

In a statement, Renner's family said, "We can confirm that Jeremy has sustained traumatic chest damage, orthopedic injuries, and has had surgery today (2 January)." He is still in the intensive care unit in a critical but stable condition after his operation.

As more information becomes available, TMZ reports that on New Year's Eve, Renner was reportedly plowing the road a quarter mile from his Nevada house to get his family out after a snowfall.

Despite having a wide range of safety precautions, the Snowcat plough accidentally ran over one of the actor's legs, causing significant blood loss, a neighbor told the site.
