A Long Amish Winter

Esther and Rebecca Miller are grateful to their aunt Martha for taking them in. Their parents' death was sudden and tragic, leaving the young women with nowhere else to turn. But though their aunt and her kind neighbours are eager to help them settle in, Esther feels a bit rushed. After having her world pulled out from under her, she feels lost and untethered.

Determined to make a new start, Esther tries to feel more at home in her new town. Her little sister Rebecca is doing well, and Esther is glad to be able to help her aunt with her sewing projects. And the kind young man from down the road, Winston Fisher, has taken an interest in her. Still, Esther is not sure she is ready to care for anyone again, especially after the loss she has already suffered.

But life is made for living, and Gott never gives us a challenge that we are not ready to handle-especially in love.
