This is what necessitates spiritual heart surgery, which God is willing and able to do if we let him. Purity, joy, and thankfulness are some of the things that will enable our spiritual hearts to function properly. In our human weakness, we may fail sometimes to maintain the spiritual health of our hearts. For this reason, God has made a lot of promises which he will fulfil to keep our hearts healthy. We only need to respond to God's promise by doing our part. The goal of a healthy spiritual heart is for each of us to allow God to make us men and women after God's own heart.
