Declan is an NHL rockstar turned reject who imploded his own life with bad choices and is in desperate need of a PR makeover. As he slums it on a lower team his one goal is to follow every order his PR agent gives him and get back on a top-tier team and win the Stanley Cup. But things get complicated when he starts to develop feelings for his fake girlfriend.

Hattie is an aspiring cookbook author who currently spends her days baking and making lattes for a local coffee shop. When she agrees to take her pro-athlete-obsessed bestie to a hockey game for her birthday, she never in a million years would have thought she'd be interested in one of the players - let alone end up in a fake dating scenario with him as a networking and PR stunt. But here she is. And it's getting messier by the minute, because once real feelings outside of lust get involved she will be completely in over her head.
