The age of forty is when a man sees a clear picture of his future. But for me, there was nothing other than mental exhaustion, gray hair, and loneliness. Years ago, counting the days a forty-year-old man had lived would put me to sleep. But now that I have reached that stage myself, I understand that years and months are only long in appearance, and you go through them in a blink of an eye.Yesterday, as the calendar says, I entered my forties. But in my mind, I am still the same nine-year-old child who used to think he could move a mountain. I am still the same sixteen-year-old boy who tried to be a father to his one-year-old child, even though he had not learned about life himself. I wish there was another chance in life so that I could change the past. However, I know that even if I repeated my life, I would have still surrendered to the will of fate that has molded my life over these forty years.My dear Sepehr, I hope you forgive me for not being a good father to you.
