The Dawn of War: A Ballad of a Crimson Night Book One

Ten years ago, Will Gallien murdered the king, Aesa Namire, seized the crown as his own, and tried to capture the late king's children, Dale and Fae. The children escaped and fled to the northern half of the continent where Dale has been slowly preparing for war now that he has turned of age. A Ballad of a Crimson Night not only follows their tale, but also those intertwined with it including Earl and Adam, two sailors who have lost their memories, Myra and Amaiya, the daughters of a local lord aligned with House Namire, Rolan, a noble yearning to prove his worth to the Usurper, and Aimon, Dale's cousin who is investigating a mysterious and ancient threat of unknown magnitudes. As these characters hurtle into times of death, violence, and tragedy it becomes clear that this is only the dawn of the war to come.
