Dark Seductions: Book One of Gritty City

My name is Manfred Stoney. I'm a twenty-seven year old private investigator working out of a cheap one room walkup office in San Francisco's seedy Tenderloin District. It's been three years since my 'other than honorable discharge' from the Army Rangers. There was a woman involved. There always is. This one was my lieutenant's too young and too beautiful wife with a penchant for sex and tough enlisted men. She taught me we can't choose who we love. But neither can we choose who we don't.

My case begins one mid November night, to recover a stolen 1956 Lincoln Continental Mark II. It leads me to the local crime boss, a running shootout with a street gang in the projects, and an unsanctioned street race in a stolen muscle car.

Along the way, I'm shot, knifed, beaten, slapped, and sexually confused.

I try to be a good boy and do the right thing, but I've got a weakness - bad girls. Women with the taste of whiskey and cigarettes on their breath and easy sex on their minds.
