Broken Lenses: How child abuse, neglect, and trauma shaped the way I viewed the world.

These are the events of how my view of the world was manipulated in such a way that I lived my life in fight or flight mode for more than 30 years and how it took a mental breakdown to find healing, hope and even some peace. All the abuse, neglect, trauma and manipulation taught me to be scared of the world at a very young age. That exponentially multiplied itself in high school where I was robbed twice, once resulting in a crushed eye socket and even more so when the abuse continued in my first marriage. At 39 years old, married for 14 years with a 5 year old daughter, my brain snapped. Its taken 4 years of massive amounts of support, therapy and meds to get to the point where I'm comfortable with myself and sharing this story. The love and support of what's left of my family has been irreplaceable. Ultimately God gets all the glory for seeing me through the first 43 years of my life and now I give the rest to Him. I'm honored to have the ability to share this with you. My prayer for anyone suffering like I did for so long is to seek help with not only a professional, but seek help through God first.
