This work looks deeply into the African experiences of Slavery, Civil War and Ebola/COVID-19, with historical and theological eyes. In other words, it tries to explore the place and understanding of God by African nations in the midst of historical sufferings, crisis and wars. Comparatively, other nations have gone through turbulent times in their histories, yet bounced back and occupied respectable place in the world. Israel suffered slavery in Egypt, her people bitten by the serpents in the desert and exiled in the Babylon. In the light of this, the work while using biblical Israel delves into the experiences of Sierra Leone, Ghana, Nigeria, Liberia and Guinea. Thus, it approaches such experiences with critical lenses in which case, it looks at them from both negative and lessons-learnt perspectives. In this way, it lays bare the agonies and lessons of slavery, civil wars and Ebola-COVID-19 on West Africans and Africans in general. ABOUT THE AUTHOR Lawrence Gbangbaya is Roman Catholic priest .
