History is something we cannot change, but can learn from so that is what I am doing creating a series of Black History books for kids. Learning how history evolved, and at times repeats itself is a way we can help develop the future. I want children from all cultures to understand how African Americans in this country were affected and treated by others, and became strong, intelligent and creative individuals who never let adversity hold them down. We as a people need to know that no matter how hard the circumstances are, there is always a sliver of light waiting for you to reach it and pull yourself through. I need our children to know from this young age that their great-grandparents and grandparents fought for them to prosper, and hopefully they will continue the fight. Enjoy yourself as you read through the adventures that Stacy and Chris take, as they start their journey.
