Threatened by a worldwide pandemic, what would a time traveler do? How do you keep yourself and the ones you love away from the danger? Find a time when the threat doesn't exist.
On returning from his perilous journey to the Nineteenth Century, Jean Lafitte lands squarely in the worst of the Covid outbreak. Millions die worldwide. With government restrictions on travel and person-to-person contact, the world screeches to a halt. Businesses lock their doors. Schools shut down. Millions are out of work. Hospitals filled to capacity, and overwhelmed funeral directors beg people to care for their health. Our time traveling pirate must return to a time when he and those he loves are safe, can thrive, and wait out the contagion.
But where? In the Nineteenth century, the noose awaits him and his cohorts. But thanks to the destruction of the Spanish Treasure fleet off Florida's coast, pirates in Eighteenth Century Nassau thrive.
Labeled the Golden Age of Piracy, unemployed privateers descend on the Spanish salvage operation. As they feast on the treasure, legends are born, and fortunes won and lost. It is a perfect place for them to hide and avoid the scourge ravaging the Twenty-first century. And who knows? Add to their own fortune? Come along with Jean and the crew as they depart for the time when pirates ruled if you dare.
