Chasing the Elusive Dream: Adventures of a Southern Family in the 50's, 60's and 70's

The year 1957 is life-changing for this Southern girl of eighteen. Growing up in a little town in central Mississippi, she suddenly decides, after one year in a local Baptist college, she's ready to get married to the guy she has dated since her senior year in high school.

The adventure into married life is a road filled with pot holes, and their inexperience often finds them involved in comical situations. The story continues as the pair learns to cope. Their adventure takes new turns as Beth returns to college and as Evan seeks new employment when his company moves to another town.

Later episodes ensue as Beth tries her skills, with a lack of experience, in the working world. At one point, tragedy strikes and the two must learn to lean on each other to overcome their grief. Eventually the couple have children, adding another layer of adventures, as new characters emerge and begin their own series of escapades.
