Thimble Discovers: What makes her special

Thimble Discovers is a series that follows Thimble as she discovers more about her emotions and the world around her. This book aims to help young readers explore the feelings surrounding bullying and not fitting in with friends and peers. Thimble Discovers: What Makes her Special helps parents and caregivers talk to young readers about the feelings they may have when they're singled out by their peers and aims to help them work through their emotions and focus on the things that make them special and unique. This book shows young readers that there are many people who have the same differences as us and that we should embrace the parts of us that are different and unique. This inspiring story asks the young reader questions surrounding their emotions and creates space within the book for the reader to talk through their emotions with their parents and caregivers. We hope this book can help young readers alchemise their emotions and develop strong soft skills as they develop and grow into the wonderful people they are.

Synopsis

Thimble the Cat works through her feelings of sadness after her friends tease her for being different. Her parents decide to introduce her to different animals from around the world to show her that she's not as different as she thought she was. During her journey, we give the reader space to express their thoughts arounds feelings of sadness and to think about the things that make them unique. This book has activities and a colouring-in page to give the caregiver an opportunity to talk to the reader about feelings they may be working through and to discuss the various lessons shared in this book.
