It was the Dragon King, Magmus, their king, and his brother Ash. Both were dragons. The latter eagerly returned Red's wave and Ember took deep cleansing breaths as they headed over.
She had kept bumping into their king of late, always in the most unexpected places. He would show up in the market next to her, admiring the same objects, or tangle with her on one of her walks. Until now they hadn't ever attended anything together, in company.
Ash was leaning in to kiss Red's cheek.
Ember blinked.
How had they closed the distance? She hadn't even pulled her wits together.
"Ember?" Magmus greeted her smugly and her gaze met his. He towered over her with his broad shoulders and height, his eyes sparkling.
