A Journey of Love: A Reflective Journal on Intimate Partner Relationships

Relationships can teach us a lot about ourselves, whether they are current or from the past. In my own journey, I have created journal entries about my relationships with intimate partners and often did not revisit the journal entries in real time for reflection. Reflection for me often occurred after the transition of the relationship. I found myself saying, "Girl, the signs (whether good signs or bad signs) were right in front of you." My last relationship involved intimate partner violence from a man who wrestled with many insecurities, which I detail in my book, The Ideology of Marriage: 7 Lies I Told Myself Before I Said I Do. It was from reading my journal entries after the traumatic end of this relationship I'd made the commitment to myself to reflect on my journal writing in real time and to create a journal that will allow me to do that. I am sharing this reflective journal with you and hope this journal brings you a heightened awareness and deepening of self-love as you navigate life and love.
