Disclaimer - this novel contains themes of an adult nature, violence, and strong language. Please do not read if easily offended. Born with a silver spoon in his mouth, Montague Finch-Morton's perfectly gilded life is suddenly and dramatically turned on its head by an untimely death halfway across the world.Summoned home to the family estates, he is forced to confront the harsh realities of his situation, and to make a choice. Roll over and concede defeat, or step up, become a man, and do whatever it takes to restore the family fortune? He does of course choose the latter, but what exactly does that entail? Still not completely sure, Monty is taken under the wing of his buxom Aunt Caroline, who agrees to act as his chaperone and mentor on an 'educational' journey across Europe. Initially sold to him as an opportunity to further his knowledge and understanding of etiquette, languages, culture, and the arts, it soon becomes apparent there is more to becoming a man than simply a first rate education. Before he can even think of returning home, Monty must also become a skilled and sexually uninhibited lover. But is he up to the task, and can he save his family from financial ruin? Author Note Monty's Coming of Age is the first of three books I have initially planned for this series. Written somewhat tongue in cheek, the story commences in the dying days of the nineteenth century, and offers a glimpse into the gilded life of a young man born into a world of Victorian privilege and entitlement. Set to the backdrop of his erotic awakening, and increasingly erotic endeavours, the reader will journey in the footsteps of the aristocratic young men and women of the Grand European Tour. More particularly, they will follow in the footsteps of Montague Finch-Morton 3rd as he prematurely journeys toward manhood, maturity, and social eligibility. Primarily a work of fiction, I have also interwoven this tale with certain real-life figures, places, and events.
Where appropriate, and where I have felt it necessary to enliven the story, or its characters, I have also exercised a considerable dash of artistic licence, and French joie de vivre. Neither of these liberties should be taken altogether too seriously. If you enjoy reading this book, I would be delighted if you would be so kind as to leave a review, or rating on the platform of your choice. With my kindest regards Eustace Hope-Langmore
