The Nanny and The Rancher

Boston orphan, Beth Arden, knows what it is to be trapped by low pedigree. Despite her education and training as a teacher, she is unable to find a position teaching the domestic arts in any of the city's schools.

She comes upon an advertisement for a nanny; a rancher in Nevada needs a woman to care for his young children. When she discovers that the rancher is Grant Sawyer, the young man that she secretly adored when she was at the orphanage, Beth is emboldened to apply for the position.

Grant, a widower still grieving for his wife, does not want anyone applying for the position to think he is looking for a replacement and he makes that clear to Beth when she arrives.
