The Songs of Omni: Or, the Last Words of the House of Autumn

Outside of time, amidst a vast golden field at the south of the world, there once lay a kingdom of great beauty called Autumn and Twilight. The people of Autumn were fair and wise and built their home in the same nature as the earth beneath their feet, taking care of all living things. They sought peace and kept faith in that which was good. It was the nature of their people, too, to write many songs, and to sing them and teach them to their children. These were songs of history, songs of love, songs of grief, and songs of hope. It was how they remembered what came before them and how to face what lay ahead. It is by the many songs that survive to us today that we know of the Kingdom of Autumn.
The Songs of Omni are, briefly, the words of Omni, the last Prince of the House of Autumn. In them, we see the contrast of the beauty of his kingdom with some far-off darkness. It seems he was young when he wrote many of them, as they bear the mark, not of some kingdom-lord, but rather one of a young man learning to raise himself up against evil. What that evil was has yet to be uncovered in our research.
I have been tasked with publishing a select number of Omni's work to pique interest in the history of the Prince and the Kingdom of Twilight. It is one of the best-kept secrets in the archeological community, but it is not long, hopefully, before it is no longer a secret. I hope that you find the same curiosity, comfort, and hope in Omni's words as I have myself.
