The Girl in the Red Sweater: Justice for Emily

He walked quickly toward his pickup. He was breathing hard. Not from exertion, but from fear. He hadn't been alone there. He knew that. He looked behind him, checking the mirrors. He looked out both side windows letting his eyes roam over the trees and empty land, then slid down in the seat for a few minutes, to get his breathing and heartbeat under control. He needed to leave quickly, but he could feel someone watching him even though he couldn't see them. He sat up in his seat and started his vehicle and pulled onto the road and drove away, looking behind him in his rear and side view mirrors. He didn't see anybody, but he knew someone was watching him.
The girl in the red sweater watched . . . she was good at watching.
