This SPECIAL CHILDREN'S EDITION is dedicated to all children (AND even adults of all ages) to learn there are others who may be experiencing abuse, neglect, bullying, suicidal thoughts, using actions of self-harm, using substances to escape, struggling with behavior issues because of tough stuff going on at home no one knows about...those who exhibit anxiety, depression, irritability with other peer group interactions...you name it from feeling bullied, controlled, or abused. Trauma reactions for adolescents are different in expressions from adults. Adolescents play out thier pains in class, on playgrounds, in private. They act it out...with peers, with teachers, mentors, parents, siblings, themselves. They mimic homelife in ways viewed as behavioral issues through interruptions, distractions, irritability, outbursts, self-harm, bullying others. Those are behaviors and not necessarily ADHD, oppositional defiance, or willful disobedience alone. There is a ROOT. Sometimes children are suffering egregiously because of compounding complex trauma and there is a person in their lives who are (or may be) narcissistically abusing them who pass and skate by in plain sight because of narcissistic glib, charm, and public image protections.
My Heart: My Broken Heart reflects diverse feelings of 'madness' of emotional and psychological abuse and is based on characters of Lewis Carroll's "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland," (Carroll, L., 1865) series. The various illustrations throughout this special CHILDREN'S EDITION are a plethora of mixed media from both Lewis Carroll (1865) originals I adapted and illustrated to match the emotional states within traumas of psychological physical and emotional abuse. "My Heart My Broken Heart" CHILDREN'S EDITION includes a collection of my original digital recreations. You will find many are collages that allow readers to spend a significant amount of time playing 'I spy' to. What will you discover within the pages of this Twisted Wonderland? Will you discover the Real Alice's way out?
