Governance: An introduction to the policies that foster social prosperity

Governance is the study of prosperity, more specifically of the causes and actions that fosters it. It is the agenda that a society, led by its government, must have if it wants to function well and thrive. The book proposes four major causes of prosperity. The first is the consolidation of institutions or rules that allow a society to perform better. Then there is security, which was the essence of the formation of nation-states half a millennium ago and which today remains as relevant as ever. Third, there is productivity, which is nothing more than the ability to produce wealth. Finally, social mobility, which ensures that we all enjoy prosperity. To address these four issues, in addition to a succinct conceptual presentation, the book uses the main indicators that researchers, international organizations and think tanks have proposed to address each subject.
