Hard to Handle

I was convinced I'd found the woman I would spend the rest of my life with. If only I'd known she was married when we started dating. Before I was already too invested to simply walk away. Turns out all I was to her was a dirty little secret.

After she kicks me to the curb, I tuck my tail between my legs and move in with my brother to pick up the pieces of my shattered heart and take a break from dating.

Or so I thought.

My plan to stay single for a while might've worked if not for my brother's gorgeous neighbor showing me kindness when I least expect (or deserves) it.

Our first encounter is far from romantic, but our mutual attraction is undeniable. Since neither of us wants a relationship, we agree to an arrangement we should be able to handle-friendship-until we both realize friendship isn't enough. When we finally give in, we can't get enough of each other.

Her previous relationship was scrutinized under a microscope and ended in an agonizing heartache that was difficult to bounce back from. Unwilling to relive the past, she's determined to keep this incredible thing we have behind closed doors and treats our relationship like glass.

If only I can convince her that what we have cannot easily be broken.
