The relations between the poet and Poetry, poetry and time, have been sometimes expressed in terms of maternity and inmortality respectively. These conventions are found not only from a critic or theoretical point of view, but in the poem itself. There are poems that refer to one, two or the three elements, but what they have in common is a more or less explicit reference or reflexion about the creative act.
