An Extinction of Darkness

LYLA FISCHER-

It's finally my senior year at the University of Houston and I intend on making the most of it. My boyfriend, Parker, and I are in a great place. My best friend, Lucy, is graduating in the spring with me. This year is going to be all about having fun and moving forward with the rest of my life. The twist of fate comes in the form of getting stuck working with the hottest, meanest professor-Professor Moxley-as his Teaching Assistant. Everyone warned me that working for him could only lead to trouble, but there has to be more buried beneath that stone-cold exterior and I'm determined to find out what.

TYSON MOXLEY-

Another year, another TA that will only last a few weeks before she gives up and walks away from this position. Honestly, why do they even bother giving me a TA anymore? I've been doing this same job in the law department for a decade and it always ends the same. Miss Fischer has surprised me since day one, she seems different than the others that have passed through. She's stronger, more intelligent, and has a fierceness about her that I find challenging and infuriating at the same time. There's a fire in her soul that might even shine a light into my own life despite the shadow of darkness that follows me everywhere.
