Summoned again by the Oaks, Lori is dropped back on the path she'd been harshly ripped away from. She awakens alone in the wilderness; crippled and surrounded by bodies. The summer has passed. Fallen leaves and bitter nights give evidence of time passed since she was taken from this world. Emotionally wrecked, she longs to seek those she knew from before, but she's no longer in a form they'd recognize. She spends a frightening, very lonely, first night in the forest, but after a few days in the company of the sentient Oaks, Lori no longer remembers what happened before, or anything else for that matter. Confused and lost, she's a wounded predator with no instincts, an outcast often assumed to be something she's not. Driven by hidden memories and desperate new needs, she struggles to survive.
