A dead girl is found below the ice in a quarry owned by the county's richest man. The body is discovered by Hill City's star player, Orion Two Bears, just days before he is to lead his team to the state high school basketball tournament. Orion becomes a prime suspect as he conceals information about the girl's death. Detectives Remy Schmidt and Beck Gates work feverishly to catch the killer as they become the hunted.
