Beetlebum Chronicles: Tales of Adventure

I remember a faraway time when I was a small child when my grandpa told me stories of long-ago family heroes while sitting under a huge mulberry tree at his house. My dad would also tell me stories, but he had a way of interjecting strange little characters with the most unusual names into those stories. As my own children grew up, I would do the same, telling stories of a certain little boy named Beetlebum who would share his many adventures with me, and then I would pass them on to my own children. As each generation grew up, bedtime stories passed away, but the memory of Beetlebum's many adventures lived on in our imaginations, no matter how old we thought we had become. When my children were very young, they seemed to believe that he was a real boy, but I knew deep down that they only played a game with me. To this day, Beetlebum appears in my family's imagination with fond memories of childhood. So one day, I wrote down a few of his stories so that everyone could share in his imagination.
These stories are written to primarily be read to children to jump-start the reader's imagination so that the reader can tell their own stories in time. In this collection, the tales are shared by a grandpa to several children in a hospital waiting room, the stories themselves told in the special vernacular of my own father and grandfather.
This collection is a series of children's stories embedded in a larger tale with its own lesson. So I invite you to enter my family's collective imagination and listen to stories passed down through four generations about a little boy named Beetlebum and his many adventures.
