Delicate Things

I knew that long before anyone else did.

All I ever wanted was to be loved and accepted for the person that I know that I am deep down inside.

Instead, I've been mocked, ridiculed, and thrown to the wolves.

When I was ready to give up, I saw him.

He looks at me with such hunger in his eyes-a longing that I've never experienced before.

He loves me with every frayed fiber of his being.

No one will take him from me.

I won't allow it.

Not when I finally have what I've always wanted.

Even though he tells me that I'm perfect the way I am, but I can't accept it.

Not when he deserves so much better than what I have to go him.
