LAPD dispatches Hollywood's Finest to solve the case, the wiry veteran Jentour and his 20-something sidekick, Tamara Scott. Simultaneously, bodies are turning up mauled by dogs and others drained of blood. Are these weird crimes related? Is this the work of a serial killer? But when Detective Scott's instincts lead her to a power couple in the elite business district, the chief orders them off the case.

Outraged, Scott contacts Slim. But what she reveals to the former grid iron star may not only get him whacked or back in prison, but blow the whole lid off the secret lives of LA's power elite.
